This is for me a special illustration. The story started last year, when me and my best friend did a vacation diving trip to Maldives. Together we came up with a children's story of a maldivean girl, who discover she can actually speak with the fishes! All that colourfull life under the sea, all that variety of diferent kind of sea creatures, the amazing landscape and the sympathy of that people, all inspire us! There, we met a couple of nice, kind peoples, that we desire to return to that spectacular country. I recomend you, if you can go to Maldives!

The same main character, in some emotional posing studies.

This is an illustration of a story whose main characters is bugs. A fat butterfly worm want to get thinner, with the support of the older pink worm. All others bugs jokes of her. It's a tender children story, whose moral is "acept you as you are,no matter what all others say". A sort of the Hans Christian Andersen's "The Ugly Duck", this time the fat worm turns to a beautifully colourfull buterfly...

That illustration is for my current project, "The Mill", a more poetic story, whose scenario is the open field of the Alentejo, in Portugal. Like allways, I try to give an animated film visual style.

This was one of my very first atempts to coloring in Photoshop, was used to ficcionally, publicite a mobil phone.I loved the character so much that I actually used him to figure in my visit card. Instead of a spray can, he uses a phone and appears to say:"Call me!"Yo!

These two illustrations were designed to some design t-shirts, but unfortunately it didn't happen, and I turned them to postcards. I like that urban-style, althoug I didn't use it too much, I live near clothes stores that selling this kind of stuff, t-shirts, skates, all clothes to the youngers' "graffity" generations. And if there's a chance, I would like to do some work to those "griffs"...

This babe was designed in the comic J.Scott Campbell's "Danger Girl" style.
I loved that comics, during a time it was his style, and Joe Madureira's style
who made me go search regularly his comic books to the Comics Store! (note
that the
Oporto Comics Store, with all-american imported comics was at 60 minutes away by car, in another city.)

This is a drawing I did just for fun. Maybe I was inspired by the opening of "Shark Tale" or something, I don't know...I gave a funny expression to those fish, with their big round eyes, intrigued by the little kung-fu worm...

Needless to say, is another ilustration of my project "The Scarecrow", taking place at night, my favourite mood!I worked to look like a picture, a frame of some feature animation.
